The establishment of the Indonesian Traditional Muaythai Association (ASMUTRI) as a member organization of the KORMINAS family now has 15 Provincial Branch Representatives. ASMUTRI serves as a platform for enthusiasts to develop traditional Muaythai martial arts talents in Indonesia, with the goal of building a society that is fit, healthy, and happy.
The Chairman of PP ASMUTRI, Opniel Untung T., stated his commitment to promoting traditional Muaythai martial arts in Indonesia with clear rules and regulations, directed toward recreational and community sports that do not overlap with other organizations.
“We are here to channel the talents of traditional Muaythai lovers by showcasing artistic movements as part of the tradition, such as the Wai Kru ritual of respect before a match begins,” he said.
“Becoming part of KORMINAS as an INORGA is not an instant process. There are many stages and requirements we must go through. We are committed to advancing traditional Muaythai martial arts within Indonesian communities,” Opniel concluded.
National Target
PP ASMUTRI aims to reach all provinces in Indonesia through the development and implementation of National, Provincial, and Regency/City level tournaments and events. The hope is to provide space for people of all ages to explore their abilities. This fully supports the “Indonesia Aktif” program promoted by KORMINAS.
In accordance with Law No. 11 of 2022, PP ASMUTRI has fulfilled the legal aspects of establishing a community organization and is officially part of KORMINAS. Therefore, it is entitled to conduct training, human resource development, and hold championships/festivals at the international sports tourism, national, regional, and regency/city levels, without any obstacles from any party, as long as it complies with the laws of Indonesia.
May PP ASMUTRI become one of the INORGAs of KORMINAS that can contribute to the success of KORMINAS programs and help realize a healthy, fit, and joyful Indonesian society.(Ine)
